RVC is excited to let you know of new leadership within the organization. After 5 years as club president, Chris Norfolk is making way for Rachel Merrithew to assume the role. Rachel’s long-time volunteer involvement in RVC includes trail work, youth coaching, expanding RVC’s inclusiveness through leading women’s+ programs, and participation in the club executive. Leadership changes in every organization is a good thing. The RVC executive is a super productive team and while the president is the spokesperson, the whole team sets the direction through consensus decisions and everyone contributes.

Chris’s outgoing message:
“RVC is a strong club and it’s in strong shape. I’m proud to have been a part of an incredible volunteer board over the past 5 years which has grown the club, developed new partnerships, built new trail, and tried lots of new things. We’ve accomplished a few big successes and I’m excited to the next ones right around the corner. It’s good time for me to take a step aside so that new ideas and energy can take RVC to the next level. I’m psyched to see where this goes. See you on the trail.”
Rachel’s incoming message:
“I’m honoured to step into the role of president of RVC, and I want to begin by recognizing the incredible leadership that Chris has provided over the last five years. His commitment, steady vision, and willingness to try new things have helped shape RVC into the strong, vibrant, inclusive community we have today. I’m looking forward to continue working with an amazing and dedicated RVC board to make things happen in 2026 and beyond for our cycling community.
