How can I find some people to ride with?
First off, join RVC and come out to an event or group ride. RVC manages several Facebook groups catering to different types of riding. These are your best bet for finding some group rides or others to ride with. You can find links to our various Facebook groups here. Local bikes shops also organize group rides. Check with them directly for schedules.
What does RVC do with the membership fees?
All membership fees as well revenue from club events goes into supporting cycling in the region, such as buying tools and lumber for trail maintenance and supporting events and activities. Winter Bike is a separate account that supports winter-specific expenses, mostly snowmobile grooming of trails. A full Club budget and accounting of expenditures is presented to members at our Annual General Meeting.

Does an RVC membership provide me with a racing license?
Joining RVC does not provide you with a UCI racing licence; a race licence must be purchased separately through Velo NB.
I’ve never participated in a race before. How do I know if I’m ready?
The course for the Woolastook 4 is available at the event website. You can ride the course any time and see if it suits your abilities. Participants do as many laps as they wish in 4 hours, so you only ride as far as your ability, fitness, and motivation will take you. You do not have to be a ‘racer’ to participate and have fun.
Or, why not try out our short track XC series, which normally begins in August.
Another way to tell is to ride with someone who has participated in an event, and they can tell you if you are ready – so join RVC and meet some other cyclists!
Where are the bike shops in Fredericton?
The Fredericton area bike shops are excellent partners to RVC. Check them out: The Radical Edge, Explore Velo, and Savage’s Bicycle Centre.
